I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a while and finally decided now was as good a time as any. I pushed aside internal doubt and self-consciousness (jerks!) and am ready to see where this takes me. My initial purpose was simply an outlet for thoughts, ideas, fears, what have you – a sort of therapy/broaden your horizons type activity. Then as I got to thinking and checking out others’ blogs, it dawned on me. We like to follow along with relatable people. And who is more relatable than your average Jane?
Most blog posts I see regarding recipes or projects end with beautiful results. As a reader, I found this to be disheartening as my results were often. . .let’s say. . .subpar. At this point, I’d like to recommend you Google “nailed it” or “Pinterest fail”. Then check out those images. You can do it now. I’ll give you a few minutes. Let me know when you get to the recreated baby pictures. OMG. . .I died.
Have you stopped crying with laughter?? Yup. . .that kind of sums up how I feel about some of my attempts. Now, not everything turns out disastrous. There’s definitely a spectrum and from time to time I find a few things landing at the other end. But I thought maybe people would be interested in seeing someone, just an average someone, trying things out. Success, or failure. Maybe we’ll learn something along the way. Maybe you can help me with suggestions. Maybe this will be awesome!!! Maybe. Hopefully.
I’m sure things will be a little slow at first as I figure out what I’m doing and how this all works. But I’m pretty excited about this and think it will be a ton of fun.
Stay tuned. . .
P.S. This is a stock photo. It came with my first blog post, but it’s pretty great. It’ll do for now until I can get my photos uploaded and then. . .bring on the kitty pictures!!! Cause really. . .who doesn’t love kitty pictures?
